With a shallow, private beach ideal for swimming, tennis, squash and table tennis courts, children's pools and plenty of open space to run around, Palm Beach is a popular choice with families.

Palm Beach is seven-kilometres from Larnaca so, while the town and its amenities are within easy reach, it enjoys a peaceful location away from the crowds. The exotic palm-filled gardens lead down to a great stretch of beach and the pool area- lit at night, is a calming place to relax. Those who opt for sea-facing rooms are rarely disappointed.

If you're an active type and prefer to keep busy on holiday, there is plenty to keep you entertained. Water sports on offer include scuba diving, water skiing and canoeing and, for the more sedate, a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room is available.

Some guests are more than happy to utilise the facilities on site, however, others like to get out and explore the local area. If you fall into the latter category, you will need to either hire a car or try public transport.

You may find one or two items missing from rooms which you might expect from a four-star hotel. There are no tea and coffee making facilities, for one, and the beds leave a little to be desired. Some guests find them too hard for comfort, although this could just be a matter of personal taste.

Several guests have commented that the English-speaking channels on the TVs in guest rooms are restricted to just a handful of news options. If you like to spend a lot of time in your room, you may wish to bring your own entertainment.
