Positive Reviews
positive:
Cheap accommodations for when necessary
Plainfield Inn fits the bill for needing a cheap place to stay for a night or two, especially on short notice. Nothing is fancy, and it's not much more than a bed, four walls, a roof, and a bathroom, but if that's all you really need, then it's a viable option. You'll be able to save money for sightseeing and transit costs.
positive:
Conveniently located to almost everything
There's a lot to do that's easily accessible and a short drive, ride, or walk to get to and from. The hotel is a central base for checking out Houston nightlife, entertainment venues, leisure activities, and just seeing what you can find during spontaneous walkabouts.
positive:
Nothing else positive about this hotel
So far, no other positive opinion has been expressed by the guests about this hotel.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Shady atmosphere and guests
The hotel's ambience holds very little charm and appeal, and gives off an uncertain or uncomfortable feeling. There are also people mulling about, looking and acting suspicious, who may or may not even be registered guests.
negative:
Management doesn't control noise
Bring earplugs, as management and staff don't seem to care about the noise. Traffic sounds may not be controllable, but no one enforces any sense of quiet time or advises loud guests to respect others' relaxation and sleep.
negative:
Rooms aren't refreshed or kept clean
The rooms are greatly disappointing, as they are dirty, worn looking, outdated, and not cared for properly. Towels and linens are stained, bathrooms are icky, and walls and floors also look like they've seen much better cleaning.
