Positive Reviews
positive:
Very tranquil spa area
The spa area is perhaps guest's favourite part of the hotel. They describe it as very serene, and enjoy both the facilities and the treatments offered, though the pool was said to be just a dipping pool, rather than one for actual swimming.
positive:
Good location
Though there were some issues with noise, most guests did appreciate the central location, since they found it easy to access both transport and the historic city centre in just a few minutes walk from their hotel.
positive:
Decent buffet breakfast
While most guests didn't exactly rave about the breakfast, there were very few complaints to be found as well. The majority view seemed to be that it was a pretty varied spread containing something for everybody, setting guests up for the day ahead.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms a bit noisy
Unfortunately several guests complain of noise disturbing their sleep at night, both from inside the building and the streets outside. Perhaps it is a consequence of the central location, but guests do not believe that the windows do enough to keep the noise from the streets out, or that the dividing walls do enough for internal noise.
negative:
Bizarre showers
It seems the hotel has opted for the trendy showers with no doors or curtains. While some guests conceded that this looked good, unfortunately when it came to actually showering it resulted in the whole bathroom floor being flooded. To many the design was inexplicable.
negative:
Some confusion over parking
There seemed to be quite a bit of confusion over parking at the Opera. There were said to be very few on-site bays indeed, and valets seemed to park guest's cars in the surrounding streets, or at a nearby shopping centre. This system definitely didn't work for everyone, and seemed to create a good deal of confusion and unhappiness.
