Positive Reviews
positive:
Spa in a beautiful setting.
The spa is well worth a visit with its large indoor pool and the treatments on offer are of good quality. The relaxation room does what it says on the tin and the changing light colours have drawn compliments. There is also an outdoor area, for when weather permits, which includes a hot tub. The gym is also well equipped and not overcrowded.
positive:
Lovely food selection.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning coffee, afternoon tea and high tea are all available at the hotel. There is a range of food choices on offer with lots of fresh, local produce.
positive:
Lots of activities for children.
The staff in the crèche are very friendly and reassuring, this frees parents up to make use of the hotel facilities. There is a small cinema room, play area and swing-ball to also help keep the children occupied.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lacks some finishing touches.
The hotel could be improved by just a few small touches, for example offering to help guests with their luggage. It lacks the finesse of a complete luxury hotel. Guests who were expecting items on arrival, such as a welcome drink or doggy welcome pack, have been disappointed to find them missing.
negative:
Quite expensive.
If paying the normal room rate it is quite an expensive hotel. There are a range of room types available to suit different budgets however. Drinks are also quite expensive and this needs taking into account when budgeting for your stay.
negative:
Looking tired in places.
In a few places the hotel is looking a little bit shabby, for example damp patches, stained carpets and peeling wallpaper.
