Positive Reviews
positive:
Marvelous location.
With a location that can't be beat, many guests were planning on returning to the Red Lion River Inn. After a ten-minute walk down a lovely riverfront path, you will find yourself in the midst of prime downtown Spokane dining, shopping and nightlife. The river walk is also a great place for a morning run, or to take your pet for a stroll after staying in this very pet-friendly hotel.
positive:
Peaceful setting.
Guests liked that this hotel was close to the highway, but relatively quiet, especially if you ask for a riverside room. Situated in wooden buildings, guests found rooms to be surprisingly noise-free, possibly due to the hotel being somewhat spread out.
positive:
Management looking to please.
For the most part, guests encountered friendly staff who made them feel welcome. Where service really shined, though, was with staff in management who aimed to rectify problems quickly, and worked with the customer to ensure a great stay.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Unpredictable cleanliness.
Many guests visiting the Red Lion River Inn were happy with the level of cleanliness in their rooms. However, several guests also found that rooms were not as clean as they would have liked. Items under the bed, dusty surfaces, moldy bathtubs, and dirty towels were a few of the items guests had a problem with. While the hotel does offer 24-hour housekeeping services to attend to complaints, some guests found that problems persisted.
negative:
Starting to show its age.
Guests staying at this hotel might find that it is of the older variety. While a seasoned establishment can have character, some visitors didn't see the charm in worn hallways, dingy bathrooms, and walls needing a fresh coat of paint. Some guests felt this senior hotel could be great again with a few updates.
negative:
Odors might be a problem.
Some guests found themselves plugging their noses upon entering their rooms. A stale or musty smell was cause for some air freshener, but you might find the smell lingers anyway.
