Family run businesses usually go that extra mile to provide a superior and personalized service. This hotel is no exception. There's a warm welcome from staff on the check in desk and the management are equally friendly and keen to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

Beds are comfortable and rooms are kept clean. So, too, is the shower. Some things, like the TV, are a bit dated; but they work, so no complaints.

The WiFi is reliable and unusually for many hotels, so is the hot water supply! The hotel seems to attract the quieter type of guest which adds to the relaxed nature of the stay. Interestingly, truck drivers stay here but they, too, seem focused on a good night's sleep, so they are quiet when leaving very early in the morning.

Just off the highway, the noise can be an impediment to a good night's sleep. So, as you lie awake ... wondering what the constant smell is, where it comes from and why they haven't cleaned the stains off the wall and carpets ... you can contemplate staying elsewhere next time; or at least getting firm undertakings, in advance, as to the standard of the room here.

There isn't a 'catering concern' operating here .. just a concern about the catering! The lack of coffee making facilities in the room is bad enough, but the sub standard breakfast quality adds to the dismal saga on the catering front..

However considerate truck drivers are, they can't control the noise of engines revving up outside. This can start as early as 4 am.
