Great base for natural & historical sightseeing.
The property is surrounded by stunning natural features such as the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Unicoi State Park, where hotel guests can enjoy interesting walking trails. The Nacoochee Mound archeological site is just under two miles from the hotel and provides a unique glimpse into the area's history. .
positive:

Negative Reviews
negative:
Thin room walls can lead to noise issues.
Room walls are thin and not well insulated against outside noises such as restaurant bands and street traffic, as well as noises from neighboring rooms. Upgraded rooms on the top floor of the hotel may be a better option for light sleepers and those sensitive to noise. .
negative:
Non-smoking rooms but smoking outside.
All rooms at the Best Western Alpine are non-smoking rooms. However, this can sometimes become pointless as the hotel has smoking barrels set up outside the rooms which allows some amount of smoke to penetrate into the rooms. .
negative:
Advertised river view difficult.
The hotel offers upgraded rooms with a river view on the top floor. This is not quite the case as most of the view of the river is blocked by other buildings and trees. .
