Guests found rooms to be large and functional, with two sinks and lots of room to stretch out. No need to pack light with rooms that provide plenty of square footage. Large windows add to the spacious feeling.

Compared to other hotels in the area, many guests felt they had found a great deal. A low room rate that didn't include any surprises impressed guests who were already pleased with the hotel's total package- free breakfast, parking and a pool.

The complimentary breakfast at The Modesto Hotel was a nice surprise, with plenty of choices to fill up on. Hot options were re-stocked regularly, and guests were happy to fill their plates with as many items as they could handle.

With its location right off the highway, guests at this hotel found it to be a little too noisy for their liking. You may want to bring your earplugs for rooms facing the road or busy parking lot that is shared with a next door shopping mall. Rooms facing the courtyard offer a quieter stay.

Guest rooms are located in separate buildings away from the main hotel lobby. This could pose a problem for guests with mobility issues, or could be an inconvenience if you are using the hotel's amenities such as fitness center or lounge. Be prepared to get some exercise when staying at this hotel.

Some guests complained that the hotel parking lot played host to too many questionable characters. With a neighboring fast-food restaurant on one side, and a shopping mall parking lot on the other side, guests saw their share of pedestrian traffic from non-hotel guests, and were sometimes concerned about any contents left in their cars.
