About Melia Recoleta Plaza Hotel
Situated in a charming property that was, in fact, Evita Peron’s first residence, Meliá Recoleta Plaza Hotel offers refined accommodation in the heart of one of Buenos Aires’ most exclusive districts.
The rooms are elegant without being ostentatious, and feature luxury bedding, flat screen TV’s, minibars, in-room safes and en-suite bathrooms with Roman showers.
The hotel’s Ibiza terrace is perhaps its most lovely public area. It has hydromassage bathtubs sun beds and overlooks tranquil gardens. There’s also an elegant lobby lounge and a full service spa onsite.
The Recoleta Bistro has a charming English atmosphere, but specialises in fresh and healthy Mediterranean inspired dishes.
Lovers of opera will not want to miss a trip to Teatro Colon, one of the world’s truly great Opera Houses. It is approximately a mile from Meliá Recoleta Plaza. Nearby La Recoleta Cemetery is also very popular, and considered a great work of art as well as a final resting place.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent location and neighbourhood
This was perhaps what guests most appreciated about the hotel. They reported that it wasn't only that the hotel was quite central, putting many of the city's attractions within easy reach, but that the immediate neighbourhood was both charming and very safe, even at night.
positive:
Terrific staff all round
It was unusual to find a review that did not praise the staff at least a little. More typically, guests had high praise, saying that the staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to go the extra mile when assisting them with a query or addressing a concern.
positive:
Charming historic atmosphere
Guests clearly liked that the hotel was not a sleek and modern establishment, but rather retained its historical charm, both in the renovated external facade as will as the interior decoration, which most guests really enjoyed.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Problems with the food
There were perhaps a bit too many complaints
about the food and service at the onsite restaurants for comfort. While most of
the complaints related to breakfast, with some saying that the food was cold,
unappetising or both, there were also complaints about other meals as well
negative:
Very small bathrooms
A surprising number of guests reported that the bathroom in their room was unusually small. The general feeling seemed to be that it let the room down, and that a luxury hotel such as this one should not have such cramped bathrooms.
negative:
Some cleanliness issues
Quite a number of guests were unhappy with the cleanliness of their room, either at check in or after housekeeping had cleaned their room. Some felt that they had done a bit of a mediocre job and that there was room for improvement.
