McWilliam Park Hotel (Claremorris, Ireland)

The rooms were described as spacious and well-presented by the majority of the guests. Large wardrobes allowed guests to stow away their belongings and many also complimented the equally spacious and modern bathrooms. The showers were said to be powerful with plenty of hot water and guests also appreciated that the complimentary toiletries were replaced on a regular basis.

The hotel offers a wide range of leisure activities as well as entertainment. Guests thoroughly enjoyed using the indoor pool and various other facilities in the leisure complex including the Jacuzzi and the gym. Many also complimented the live music at the bar and the various dance and comedy acts.

The food served in both the restaurant and the bar has been described as being of good quality and well-prepared. Guests appreciated the size of the portions as well as the nice presentation of the meals. Breakfasts were also said to be tasty with quite an extensive choice of items on offer.

Guests complained about the level of noise at the hotel which was primarily due to private parties held in the function suite and live bands at the weekend. Loud music and inconsiderate behaviour of the party guests prevented many from getting a good night’s sleep.

The service at the bar has been described as rather slow and disorganised. Guests complained about the inattentiveness of staff and having to wait longer than expected for their orders even though the bar was not particularly busy.

Some guests complained about inadequate housekeeping as they found cobwebs and dust in their guest rooms. Many also objected to their carpets not being hovered for the duration of their stay.
