Positive Reviews
positive:
Exquisitely beautiful gardens
This was perhaps what guests most appreciated during their stay. The gardens were said to be exquisitely beautiful and incredibly well tended. Guests mentioned that there were a number of delightful “secret” places in the garden with seating that were the perfect place to relax with a good book.
positive:
Terrific breakfast
Guests couldn’t stop saying how wonderful the breakfast was. They described it as an incredibly varied spread that certainly had something for everyone. It was also apparent that it was put together with great care and very well presented.
positive:
Spotlessly clean and neat
Again and again guests mentioned that their room was simply spotlessly clean. They also mentioned that it was neat and well presented, so was really the perfect package they were unable to find fault with.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit far from town
A couple of guests mentioned that the resort was not within walking distance of Ashland. They enjoyed the tranquility, but felt a bit isolated and would clearly have liked to be able to stroll into the town.
negative:
Pool is unheated
Guests were disappointed that the pool was entirely unheated. This meant that, unless you were a member of the Polar Bear Swim Club, it was usable for only a few months of the year. They felt that of it was heated there would be many fine days in the shoulder season it could be used.
negative:
Rooms a bit small
Several guests mentioned that their room was a little small. They felt it was well-appointed, but would be even better if they just had a little more space to move around.
