Lapland Hotels Riekonlinna (Saariselkä, Finland)

Whatever they thought of the hotel itself, all guests agreed that the location was an ideal one to use as a base to explore Lapland. Specifically mentioned were its easy accessibility to airport and train station, the range of services in the village, and finally the presence of safari companies in town.

Perhaps it wasn't really the sauna itself that was special, but several non-Scandinavian guests commented that they loved that the sauna was available. It was especially appreciated after a long and cold day in the snow and ice.

Some guests it seems were expecting the worst when it came to breakfast, but ended up being very pleasantly surprised. They describe the breakfast as ample, tasty and with a wide variety of options available.

Several guests grumble that the Wi-Fi at the hotel is not free. While they can understand that it does cost the hotel something to offer the service, they feel that connectivity has become such a basic necessity nowadays that it really ought to be included in the room-rate.

Interestingly, quite a few guests complained about the rooms being a bit cold. It doesn't seem the temperature is adjustable in-room, and the central temperature setting is clearly not to everyone's liking.

There were too many guests complaining about cleanliness issues for them to be dismissed. While not described as filthy, many guests are unhappy about the state of cleanliness of their rooms on check-in.
