Positive Reviews
positive:
Very stylish and modern.
iQ Roma is a relatively new four-star hotel and everything looks very modern, stylish, and polished. The rooms are very modern, high-tech, and equipped with down comforters, laptop-compatible in-room safes, private bathrooms with bidets, turndown services, nightstands, powerful Wi-Fi signals, and ample soundproofing on the walls.
positive:
Good location.
The hotel is centrally located in Repubblica and 400m meters from Repubblica Metro Station, close to ancient architecture such as the famous Roman Colosseum which is located a 20-minute walk from the hotel. Via Nazionale is close by and great for shopping.
positive:
Friendly multilingual staff.
The staff here is very warm, friendly, and professional. If you are a visitor to Italy and your Italian is less than adequate, you don't have to worry. The staff here is multilingual and staff members have an excellent grasp of major foreign languages.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lacks originality.
While many guests appreciated iQ Roma's modern look, sophisticated and modern design and look, a few described the hotel as just another high-end European hotel, generic, and lacking in character. A few pointed out that the beds are rather hard and uncomfortable and that rooms can get a bit hot and stuffy even with the air-conditioning working.
negative:
Rooms can be noisy.
A number of guests have reported that some rooms, particularly those on the ground floor, can get uncomfortably noisy at night due to proximity to the streets, cars passing by, people chatting, and so on.
negative:
Too much automation.
Some guests have reported that the hotel's attempts to go high-tech have gone overboard and the level of automation is just too high. For instance, a vending machine has been installed in the gift shop which makes buying even simple things a rather surreal experience.
