Positive Reviews
positive:
Very quiet
Despite being located right on the main road leading into town, several guests reported that their rooms were havens of peace and quiet. It may be that their rooms faced away from the street, or that the hotel has very good soundproofing, but whatever the reason guests were happy to be able to get an undisturbed night's rest.
positive:
Exceptionally pet friendly
A couple of guests with pets in tow were clearly pleased with the way they were treated. They felt as if the hotel actively welcomed their pets, rather than simply allowing them.
positive:
The pillow-top mattresses
Unlike most hotels, there was a near absence of complaints about the mattresses. In fact, a large number of guests went out of their way to say just how amazingly comfortable they were.
Negative Reviews
negative:
In need of a makeover
Several guests commented that the property was looking a bit worse for wear. Both the public areas and the rooms were said to be faded, worn and definitely in need of a makeover.
negative:
No elevator
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Though the building is just a couple of stories high, guests sorely missed having an elevator to use. Even those without serious mobility issues found it tiresome to have to walk up and down to their rooms multiple times a day.
negative:
Breakfast not a hit
Although the hotel does offer a bit more than just the standard continental breakfast, guests did not seem to be much impressed. There were a number of different complaints, but a very common one was that the eggs were “rubbery”, with guests insisting that the omelets or scrambled eggs couldn't possibly have been made with fresh eggs.
