Hotel Travelodge by Wyndham Rapid City (Rapid City, USA)

Excellent proximity to Rapid City, the popular Mount Rushmore area and the Black Hills. Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, a pleasant outdoor pool and a basic daily breakfast. Rooms are tidy with cozy beds, and some (not all) have refrigerators and microwaves. Most have outdoor, private entrances. Ask for one with a deck if you are a smoker or just enjoy sitting under the stars. Note: get clarity on the pet policy; it may only pertain to dogs.

The outdoor pool is clean and inviting during the warmer months. Nice and relaxing after a hard day's travel or work.

This team is great, with special recognition to the front desk staff. Very efficient, welcoming an accommodating, they will set you up for a successful visit by walking with you to your room, carrying your bags for you, making sure the key works and arranging any transport you may need. Friendly, five star service.

Needs a refurb, although you can see some renovation has taken place already. The property (an old motel) seems quite old, with the inside overall looking a bit better than the exterior. Rooms and decor are dated and a bit dreary. A good scrub, some carpet cleaning and a few new pieces could easily make up for the low points here.

Minimal signage and a lack of exterior lighting makes the place difficult to find - and does not put the mind at ease walking outside in the dark between the buildings at night.

Forget about the Wi-Fi if you absolutely need it - go elsewhere. It is very iffy here, although staff will try to help get you on. Standing outside is your best bet with the connection here.
