Lots to see and do within walking distance
This hotel’s setting on Bayfield Road ensures you’re never more than a five or ten-minute walk from the strip malls, fast food joints and entertainment venues that characterise this popular thoroughfare. The city centre and waterfront are only a 20-minute stroll away too.
positive:
Lobby lounge is absolutely lovely
With its lovely stone wall, open fireplace and high ceiling; the lounge area in the hotel lobby looks and feels like a modernised – and very agreeable - version of the kind of thing you’d expect to see in an old Rocky Mountain ski lodge hotel. A really lovely spot to relax and unwind.
positive:
Free breakfast buffet really hits the spot
Plentiful, varied and energetically replenished; the free breakfasts here are much more than just a token gesture. Always good to see a pancake machine in the offing too!

Walk back from town is a challenge
Whilst there’s no doubting the walk into the city centre is pleasant enough, it needs to be highlighted that the return journey involves walking uphill for the best part of a mile. Something to keep in mind if you’re not as fit as you used to be...
negative:
In-room environmental controls aren’t the best
Numerous guests have drawn attention to the fact that the heating and air-conditioning units in the accommodations are, when they actually work, somewhat temperamental and normally quite noisy.
negative:
Hotel doesn’t have a lift
So, as well as making life tough for visitors with mobility issues/kids/lots of luggage, it effectively renders the swimming pool off-limits to anyone in a wheelchair. Not good.
