Charming, Boutique B&B
A converted Victorian refectory,The St Denys Hotel has been completely refurbished and guests loved the blend of original features and modern comforts. Some described it as a charming boutique, others a small and lovely guest house. All agreed that the rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed with extra touches such as natural soaps and shampoos in the en-suite bathrooms and quality bedding. They were equally enthusiastic over the complimentary Yorkshire breakfast.

Excellent Service
From the umbrellas left for guests on rainy days to the chocolates on the desk at night, guests say owners Sophie and Maria and Marina on the front desk could not have done more to create a warm and welcoming experience. Guests described the service as excellent, efficient and friendly and some said it set the standard that all hotels should strive to attain.

Perfect Location
In the middle of York's historic Merchant Quarter and just in front of the 15th century St Denys Church, this hotel's location drew raves from guests. They loved the easy walk to shops, bars and restaurants and nearby Shambles Market which hosts a variety of events throughout the year. For some guests it was a toss-up as to what they enjoyed most, the hotel or it's location. Regardless, many said they would definitely return.
