On arrival, you can’t stop outside the hotel. Instead you go the public car park a few hundred yards away, pay of course, tramp back to the hotel carrying luggage, get a voucher from reception then – you’ve guessed it! – go back to the car with said vouch

Reception staff are are seen chatting amongst themselves in full knowledge that arriving guests are waiting to check in! Ultimately, there is much about the hotel that is fine, but they go out of their way to ensure that the first impression is a bad one.
