positive:
Breakfast is a winner.
If you're a fan of comprehensive breakfasts then you'll love the 'California Healthy Breakfast' served up here. Hard boiled or scrambled eggs, homemade muesli, yogurt, fruit, whole grain bread and muffins and oatmeal with assorted toppings, all washed down with a fine selection of fruit juices, coffee and tea. Delicious.
positive:
Top notch location.
Being within an easy drive of places like Moonstone Beach and San Simeon is of course a major plus. However, it is the hotel's immediate locale -- the pretty East Village -- with its charming art galleries, boutique shops, and gourmet restaurants which is perhaps most appealing.
positive:
Wonderfully charming library.
The Burton's beautifully designed library, with its wood-paneled walls, wooden ceiling, and decadently carpeted floor is undoubtedly the jewel in the property's crown. Sit in here for just five minutes and you'll feel the worries of the world drip away..
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some en-suite bathrooms need a little TLC.
While The Burton's suites are generally of a high standard, it is fair to say some of the en-suite bathrooms do not match up. Indeed, numerous guests have commented about the general appearance of the bathrooms in their suites, with most saying how dated they looked.
negative:
Noise can be an issue in bottom floor suites.
This is because they are sited next to the front door/hallway where the sound of foot traffic is at its loudest. Not a huge problem but definitely something to bear in mind if you're a light sleeper or traveling with a baby.
negative:
No issues reported.
So far, no recent negative opinion has been expressed by guests about this hotel.
