    Positive Reviews

    positive:

    Gorgeous Locale, Amazing Dining/Bars

You'll find the hotel to be beautifully-restored and immaculate. It's a renovated old farmhouse which has retained just enough original features to be character-filled and historic, while providing all the modern conveniences necessary for today's level of luxury. You may be surprised to find out how busy it gets in this country locale! Turns out the word about quality gets around, and this place is just as popular with the locals as the guests who travel in. The restaurant is top notch on presentation, quality and service and the bars (one public and one in the conservatory) are usually full - especially on the nights they show rugby games on television!

    positive:

    Impressive Rooms

The standard of quality on the amenities, room furnishings and their arrangement is very high, and the beds are known for their comfort. Decor is gorgeous in both rooms and suites.

    positive:

    Superb Staff

Polite and charming, the staff here are well-trained and courteous. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask - they won't mind a bit!

    Negative Reviews

    negative:

    Low Ceilings

Although the historic venue is quaint and attractive, some of the ceilings are quite low and can be a hazard for taller folks. The lower-resting beams make it even worse. If you're of particularly tall stock, you may want to check out the environs or visit a room before you book.

    negative:

    A Few Bathroom Foibles

Some felt the televisions not working in their bathrooms and sounds from bathrooms above were unpleasant and took away from their luxurious stay.

    negative:

    Noisy Bars

If you get a room near the bars, you'll likely experience more noise. Ask for a room far from the action if you're a light sleeper.
