Central location
Guests love the location, as the guesthouse is situated right in the centre of Drymen village, with all the necessary amenities on the doorstep. It's a great base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and the guesthouse supplies packed lunches to encourage the guests to go out and explore. Drymen is a really picturesque Scottish village and the locals are very friendly. The pubs are fun places to visit.

Comfortable rooms
The rooms at The Hawthorns are spotlessly clean and comfortable and most guests haven't been able to fault them. They are spacious and well-maintained.
positive:
Great breakfast
The breakfast here has been praised as being absolutely wonderful, freshly cooked with a choice of continental breakfast or full Scottish breakfast. The full Scottish includes black pudding, Lorne sausage, potato scones and great bacon, which is highly appreciated.

Friendly hosts
Chris and Jane Cunningham, the hosts, are highly praised and appreciated as being excellent at welcoming guests into their home as if they were family. They have a store of local knowledge and are well able to guide the guests regarding the best sights to see and things to do in the area. They are cheerful and friendly and on one occasion, when taxis were unavailable, Chris took the guests to the airport himself.

Good facilities
Washing, drying and ironing facilities are available here for the use of the guests, in case they are required. This facility is thoughtfully provided by the hosts and is much appreciated, along with the other amenities available here.

Shower needs improvement
So far, most of the reviews about this guest house have been excellent, with hardly anything negative being mentioned, except one. Apparently, it is suggested that the shower needs improvement and this should be accomplished sooner rather than later say guests.
