Charming inn
This genuine 18th-century coaching inn is very charming with a pretty cobblestone entrance, a courtyard and the most delightful period features. The furniture here is practically all antique and the whole look of the hotel is Regency period, with a romantic, historical atmosphere, while having modern amenities.
positive:
Excellent food
The food here is highly appreciated. There is a great selection on the menu, well-cooked, served in generous portions and nicely presented. It has also been mentioned that the food here is very good value for money. The continental breakfast is very good with yogurt, cereal and fruit. The waiting staff takes orders for the cooked breakfast, which is considered excellent.
positive:
Great staff
The staff here has been found to be attentive and polite; solicitous without being intrusive, attentive and very friendly. Becky of the service staff, and Will, the chef, have been mentioned as being particularly helpful.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Noise issues
Although there is double glazing to keep out noise, guests say some noise does travel through the building, from one room to another. Some guests, who are sensitive to noise, find this a nuisance.
negative:
No food on Saturdays
The restaurants here are closed on Saturdays, which some of the guests find a little inconvenient.
negative:
Coffee machine issues
The tea/coffee machine in the room is a great facility. However, if the guests are not aware of how to use the machine, then it is very difficult to get help. It appears that most of the staff are not trained in the use of the machine either.
