The hotel is set in a historical building. So, if you like staying in a place suspended in time, you will feel comfortable in the hotel atmosphere. Some things may be a bit tricky to work because the hotel is more than 100 years old. For example, the water may not get really hot and the door may be hard to lock. If you like nostalgia you will certainly enjoy staying at this place.
The location has a lot going for it and you can certainly keep yourself busy. The Riverwalk is not too far away and downtown is close by as well.
The hotel does not serve breakfast, and why not? Is it too much trouble? You will receive some coffee and maybe fruit, but you are on your own otherwise. It just seems odd for such a hotel advertised for its charm and authenticity can't bother to throw in a breakfast!
Though the hotel went through a remodel not too long ago, seems like they forgot to finish it. It needs an upgrade badly. The old look is charming, but the furnishings are dusty, things don't fully work properly, there is mold in the bathroom, carpet is grimy and it just feels old, it's worn out, and in need of some TLC.
