The Farm. Tenuta Santa Tecla is principally a farm that produces certified biological fruit of a wide variety. The original plantation and irrigation system dates back to the nineteenth century and was composed largely of a flourishing lemon grove that the present owners have maintained and improved by grafting other varieties of Mediterranean citrus fruits. Walking through the property one can find many different types of orange, mandarin and grapefruit trees and a vast variety of other fruit trees coming from the best nurseries in Italy. The farm also produces an exquisite olive oil that you may taste and buy on location together with the fine local wine, followed and checked in every production stage by the owners themselves. As you explore the grounds along the various paths through the lemon grove, you will come across a botanical garden with a wide variety of Mediterranean and tropical plants all catalogued and described in detail. Animals aren’t missing, for the joy and entertainment of your children there are Tibetan goats, hens, geese and other small pets.
