Hotel Sunrise 42 Suites by Holiday in Playa (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

Though the hotel is not right on the beach or in the centre of Playa del Carmen, the majority of guests were very happy with its position. It was described as being on the quieter end of the resort city’s famous Fifth Avenue, but still only a few minutes walk away from its famous bars, cafes and restaurants.

While the pool itself was described as quite small, most guests really liked the whole roof terrace area, saying that it offered decent views and was the perfect place to kick back and relax.

It was pretty much impossible to find any complaints relating to cleanliness, no mean feat for hotel reviews. Guests stated that both their rooms and the public areas of the hotel were kept spotlessly clean at all times.

Most guests were not very impressed with the hotel’s in-house breakfast, with the scientific name for the general feeling being that it was a bit “blah”. Given the proximity of the cafes and restaurants on Fifth Avenue, it may be a good idea to seek out a cosy place for breakfast there.

There were a number of complaints about noise disturbing guest’s sleep at night, and also at other times. The main problem seemed to be other inconsiderate guests, making a noise on the hallways and other rooms. Some also mentioned that there was construction taking pace at a nearby site which also generated some noise.

There were far too many complaints about the quality of the hotel’s Wi-Fi to keep track of. It seemed that trying to connect was a frustrating experience for guests.
