Hotel Sunchase Inn & Suites (South Padre Island, USA)

Just a short walk to the beach with on-site parking, stellar views and an outdoor swimming pool. This locale is actually on the upper level of a strip mall on Padre Blvd, adjacent to some condominiums. You won't have trouble finding nearby attractions with assorted shops, ice cream parlors, fast food restaurants and a Denny's right next door.

Excellent customer service and efficient staff at check-in. Most found all department staff here charming and very attentive to guest needs. When asked to help quiet down a party in nearby rooms, this staff immediately handled the issue with ease. Any questions on dining, directions or entertainment are met with informed assistance. Top notch!

Rooms are spacious with immaculate amenities and beautiful views over the bay from most windows. You'll enjoy the fully-equipped kitchens, flat screen televisions, comfortable beds and pillows, excellent sofa beds, large showers and modern bathroom facilities. They may not be right on the beach, but the view from these rooms is still outstanding.

The advertised dining venues on the premises are closed most of the time, and staff directs guests to nearby fast food restaurants, ice cream parlors or Denny's right next door. The pool is lovely, although quite small for some tastes.

Some found the hallways and elevator to be unbearable hot during warmest afternoons; luckily, you won't spend much time in either. Others disliked the sandy, unkempt appearance of busy common areas. Still more claimed to have found roaches in their room.

Some guests were confused about the parking fees, guest visitor policies (apparently a wristband is necessary), some were charged double for their room, and others reported different amounts being charged.
