Moreover, it was reportedly quick and easy to access downtown Houston for museums, sports arenas and attractions as well as citywide industrial areas, shopping malls, universities and airports. Another convenience was that there were dining options located just steps away.

Reviewers often had good things to say about the friendly, professional and obliging personnel on reception. Those travelling with their furry friends were pleased that pets were allowed in selected rooms.

Although they weren’t the height of luxury, the no nonsense rooms were reportedly comfortable and tidy. The provision of well-equipped kitchenettes made self-catering easy for those on longer stays as there were microwaves, coffee-makers, fridge-freezers, utensils and hobs included. Visitors also appreciated the free Wi-Fi. Guests liked the usually competitive room rates for the area and felt they got reasonable bang for their buck.

In some rooms, critics claimed they encountered unpleasant smells, which they found to be off-putting. These included musty odours and lingering smoky smells.
