If you're visiting Boone for the skiing, you won't be disappointed with this spot. Appalachian Ski Mountain is less than a mile away, with Sugar Mountain ski area, Hawksnest ski and golf area, and others just minutes away. Appalachian University is also within a quick mile.

For the nice reasonable price, guests were happy to receive a pleasant, clean room with a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Visitors also appreciated having the convenience of a fridge and microwave in the room. Several reviewers said they would stay again.

No matter how full this popular hotel got, guests repeatedly mentioned how nice and quiet it was, allowing for a truly relaxing stay and a great night's sleep. The staff were also described as warm and friendly, and always very helpful in their efforts to keep guests happy.

Some guests complained that the tiny breakfast room was simply too small to accommodate the numbers of guests determined to get their free brekky. The fare offered was also sometimes described as bland and unimpressive. Even so, most still thought the hotel was great value.

While many guests were delighted with their clean spaces, others had rooms telling a different tale. These bedrooms were described as having un-vacuumed carpets, stains on bedspreads, crumbs and dust on bed stands, and beds looking crumply and generally poorly made.

Some guests were irritated to discover that their bathroom came equipped with just one washcloth. When asking for more at the front desk, they were supplied instead with more hand towels, told the washcloths had run out! Purchasing a few more would probably be a good idea.
