Staff is very welcoming and part of a great stay
The staff keep a focus on guest satisfaction and strive to make sure that everyone has a great stay. They're helpful with sightseeing tips and advice, and readily available if you need something. Dealing with them during your time at the hotel is a positive perk.
positive:
Spacious rooms have great views off of the water
Accommodations are cozy to unwind in at the end of the day and lovely to wake up in. You have a wonderful view of the water right from the beginning, and are in an atmosphere that provides the right kind of tranquility and leisure that befits this kind of getaway.
positive:
Location is great for a coastal vacation
It's easy and convenient to enjoy a coastal vacation here. You're off of the shore, and not far from getting to shopping, eateries, trails, and other locations for sports, water, and Nature activities. It's a nice pocket of North Carolina to explore.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Rooms not always as clean as they should be
You may need to request that housekeeping return to your room and refreshen it for your check-in. Asking for upkeep during your stay may also require one or more request, as tidying up is at times inconsistent.
negative:
Decor seems run down, shabby, and outdated
Shutters on the Banks would be nicer and better appreciated if it underwent a makeover and better reflected what its location and purpose suggested. The appliances and fixtures are past their prime, the furniture shows a lot of wear and tear, and the general appearance lacks vibrancy.
negative:
Breakfast area quickly becomes overcrowded
Grabbing breakfast from the free buffet is difficult at times. The seating area is small, so some guests may have to eat outside or take food back to the room.
