The hotel is well placed for exploring Amsterdam either on foot or by public transport. Many sites and attractions can be walked to within 15-minutes. Several tram lines are a few minutes’ walk away, and within 20-minutes you can reach the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and Vondelpark.

The hotel offers budget-friendly accommodation in a central location where the basics of a bed and hot shower are covered. A simple breakfast is also included in the room price to start your day.

The staff are friendly, courteous and happy to provide tourist assistance to help you find your way around the city.

The hotel was found to be old and run down and in need of an upgrade. Elements commented on included the furnishing which were found to be worn and outdated. The beds were old and the mattresses uncomfortable to sleep on. Some furnishing were torn or broken. Some guests also complained that the lift did not function reliably and it was difficult to carry luggage up the narrow flights of stairs.

The standard of cleanliness is reportedly poor with various complaints being made. Complaints include the the rooms and bathrooms are not cleaned thoroughly so that they were dirty on arrival and during the stay. Mould was found growing in the bathroom and sleeping area. At times an unpleasant smell hung in the air. The carpets were stained and in need of a vacuum and clean. Some of the furniture was also found to be dirty and a few guests complained about bed bugs.

Although free Wi-Fi access is advertised, some guests were unable to connect to the internet.
