The Hotel Saanerhof in Saanen celebrated its first centenaryin 2005. It was one of the first hotels in the Saanenland as building work commenced evenbefore the arrival of the train in 1904.The establishment opened its doors on August 1st1905 and was the first hotel with electric light throughout. Peter Matti acquired the hotel in 1936. His daughter, Susanne Matti, and her husband Jürg Neuenschwander tookover the reins in 1979.Centrally located opposite the station, the restaurant serves a wide variety of food, including local specialties and is a favorite with both localsand visitors. In summer it is pleasant to have coffee, a drink or even a small snack inthe shade of the trees on the garden terrace.The Neuenschwander-Matti family has been atthe helm for 70 years now and it is to be hoped that one of the five sons will take overthe family buisiness.Its standard three to four bedrooms and juniorsuites. All with bath, shower/WC, radio, telephone and TV with international programs.Breakfast and Taxes are included.CANCELLATION POLICY:If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
