Positive Reviews
positive:
Near the lake and skiing centre
Ruby Ponderay is centrally located just off a main highway
which easily connects you to Sandpoint City Beach Club and other sites on Lake
Pend Oreille as well as the Schweitzer Ski Resort and various activities such
as hikes and golfing. This makes it an ideal resting stop for lovers of outdoor
activities.
positive:
Children stay for free
The hotel is truly a family-friendly establishment with all children under the age of seventeen years staying for free on existing beds, as well as offering one free crib per room. Travelling with the kids is made that much affordable and hassle-free.
positive:
Excellent internet connection
Proving itself an ideal destination for both work and
leisure, the hotel’s wireless internet connection both in rooms and public
areas such as the business centre and the meeting room ensure that you stay
connected at all times and can depend on the Wi-Fi to get some work done.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Lack of a fridge or microwave in many rooms
The majority of rooms at the Ruby Ponderay have no fridge or
microwave to store or heat up your own food, and given that there is at present
no restaurant on site, it can be an inconvenience and a cost-raiser going out
to eat daily.
negative:
Below average breakfast spread
Many previous guests have remarked on the lack of variety
and of any particular quality of the breakfast, as well as the food sometimes
running out before the end of the breakfast period in busier seasons. There are
also few options for those with gluten-free and vegan dietary needs.
negative:
Rather small rooms
The standard and economy size rooms, while neat and
comfortable, may get a little cramped at times particularly for those
travelling with lots of luggage or with pets, for example. For more space and
comfort, book a double size room instead.
