If you are in Québec City for a cruise, you can drive to the cruise ship port in a few minutes. Other destinations close to the Hotel Royal William include the train station, a 15-minute walk away, and the popular Petit Champlain, also a 15-minute walk. Guests found they could walk to Old Québec in 30 minutes, but cautioned about the steep streets sometimes found in the city.

Room to spare was a welcome surprise for many guests. High ceilings and large windows contributed to a feeling of spaciousness in many rooms.

Fully bilingual staff often went above and beyond to accommodate guests. Between rolling in beds, recommending a thorough selection of dining options, or just greeting guests with a smile, visitors to the Hotel Royal William felt they were given great service.

Those with mobility issues will want to be aware of parking across the street from the hotel. Some guests had a hard time finding the parking, and were further displeased with the high cost to leave their vehicle. While parking was relatively convenient and in a secure lot, some guests found a less expensive alternative close by.

Finding the hotel proved to be difficult for even seasoned travelers, especially when driving by car. Surrounded by a number of one-way streets, many guests found themselves doing u-turns to make it to their destination.

While the complimentary continental breakfast was adequate for some, other guests found the cold selections limited. Guests are given a voucher for certain breakfast items, but having to choose between a hot drink and juice was frustrating for some. An option exists to upgrade to a hot breakfast.
