Superb, quiet setting
Guests love this quiet hotel, with terrific views over the lake. You should feel relaxed, whether on the lovely sun terrace in the summer months or around the cosy fireplace in the lounge when the weather is more temperamental.

Guests are delighted to have a cosy, pleasant restaurant on site - saving them the trek into Menaggio. The rave reviews, however, are not just down to its convenience or ambiance, but rather the excellent quality and well-presented Italian food that it serves.

Access can be difficult
If you haven't got a car you may find it a bit of a steep hike to get the the hotel. According to some guests you may need to allow a good 20-minute walk uphill to get to there from the ferry - not easy when you are weighed down with luggage. For that reason, many guests think it is unsuitable if you don't have a car. That being said, other (maybe more active) guests love the pleasant “10-minute” walk into Menaggio.

Air-con
Many guests are put out that there is no air-conditioning in their rooms - contrary to what they were expecting. In the summer months when the temperatures get into the 30s this can become unbearable.

Soundproofing issues
Some guests have noise issues. The sound-proofing, at least in certain rooms isn't the best. This may be a particular problem if you are near the reception.
