Hotel Royal Inn (Richmond, USA)

Most guests had kind things to say about the owner/manager of the hotel, Mr Patel. They mentioned that he was unfailingly polite, friendly and more than willing to help out when guests requested his assistance.

Though guests did typically have some issues during their stay, many stated that the room rates here were actually very reasonable compared to other budget places along the highway. The general feeling seemed to be that it might be a good place for those looking for a very basic place to just spend the night.

A number of guests highlighted the fact that each room has these two amenities and that they came in very handy when they wanted to prepare a quick good value snack or cold drink.

This was by far what guests complained most about. It was mentioned that the hotel has recently undergone a bit of a refresh, but in the overwhelming majority of guest’s minds this has simply not gone far enough. They mention that the décor is still very old fashioned and that they encountered small maintenance issues during their stay.

A solid minority of guests complained that their room simply wasn’t properly cleaned before they were checked in. It seems that housekeeping can be hit and miss, with those allocated rooms on the “miss” side left with a very poor first impression.

Guests did not rate the in-house breakfast very highly, saying it was basic and disappointing overall. It was mentioned that others might be better off heading to the Waffle House just across the way for their breakfast instead.
