Hotel Royal Astor (Ostend, Belgium)

Guests love the hotel's breakfast buffet. It is full of great choices, and the food is delicious. Several guests said that the breakfast area staff were also very friendly.

If you love to swim, this is a great hotel for you. The beachfront location means that you can swim in the great outdoors in good weather. But when it's colder the heated indoor pool offers an excellent alternative. There are also comfortable lounge chairs to relax in by the pool.

Despite being right on the beach and offering plenty of natural beauty, the hotel is very close to Ostend Centre. There is a nearby casino and plenty of transportation to area attractions available. So, you can get as much quiet time as you want without being too far away from the conveniences of town.

The hotel does not offer Wi-Fi access in the rooms. It is only available in the lobby. Several guests said that was very inconvenient, especially since the lobby is often crowded with guests who are trying to access the Internet themselves or requesting assistance from the front desk. So, don't expect to be able to concentrate on work during your stay.

Many guests were very upset about the parking situation at the hotel. The closest parking is close to a ten-minute walk away, and you can't park there unless you pay a daily fee.

Many guests said that the hotel is a bit run down in spots. Some of the furniture is worn, the building needs fresh paint, and the grounds need to be maintained on a more regular basis.
