This little hotel offers value for money accommodation right in the heart of Venice. Those travelling on a budget can stay here, within within walking distance of all the major attractions of the city without breaking the bank.
positive:
Helpful Reception Staff.
The reception staff at Hotel Dell’Opera, where guests go to check in, are incredibly helpful. Staff provide directions to Residenza Favaro and are happy to oblige with any information required.
positive:
Surprisingly Good Rooms.
The rooms are surprisingly spacious for the price paid. They are well decorated and kept very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The air conditioning works very well, although some had issues with adjusting the temperature. Those on lower floors had a particularly good Wi-Fi signal.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Reception in another Location.
Although the hotel’s website explains that the reception desk is located in Hotel dell’Opera, those booking through third party websites or travel agents may not be made aware of this. This leads to guests arriving in Venice with heavy suitcases only to find they have to find the Hotel dell’Opera in order to check in.
negative:
Can be Hard to Find.
The hotel is located off Calle XXII Marzo, in San Marco 2259. This is a small, narrow alleyway and can be hard to spot. However, if guests first go to the reception desk a few minutes away in Hotel dell’Opera, the staff there will outline clear directions on how to locate Residenza Favaro.
negative:
Lots of Stairs.
As with many older hotel buildings in European cities, there is a lot of stairs and due to the age of the building, no lift. This hotel is no exception, which means for those with any mobility issues may have problems getting to and from their room.
