Hotel Residencia Miami (Torremolinos, Spain)

The Hotel Residencia is in a tranquil area in the district of Carihuela of Torrermolinos in Miami. It is one of the oldest hotels in Carihuela area and retains most of the original construction designed by the famous Picasso’s cousin. Its white structure has charm and elegance. The hotel is only a ten minute walk from the El Saltillo and La Carihuela Beaches. Attractions like Torremolinos Synagogue and La Bateria Park are just 15 minutes away. The hotel is close to shops, restaurants and the airport as well.

The 26 rooms at the hotel are spread over three floors and are of five types – single, quadruple, standard double, royal suite and triple rooms. All rooms have air conditioning and feature a safe. Bathrooms are private with bath or shower provided.

The hotel features an outdoor swimming pool. A terrace and a tropical garden are areas for guests to relax along with a lounge which is provided with a traditional fireplace. Guests are served a basic continental breakfast in the lounge area or in the gardens. A pool side bar is also present. Besides, there are several restaurants to eat out located close by. The hotel has self parking facilities for free. Guests are allowed to bring their pets. Wi-Fi is free in public areas.

There is no facility of lift at the hotel. This makes it difficult for guests allotted rooms in the top floors especially when they have to carry luggage up as well. It is hard for old people to climb up the long flight of stairs too.

The rooms, especially the ones on the ground floor, are smelly with a damp smell pervading in them. Beds are also uncomfortable and are on the harder side. Air conditioners in the rooms are noisy.

Breakfast is very basic but carries a high charge. The taste of the food is average as well.
