Positive Reviews
positive:
Location is hard to beat.
For those seeking a relaxed atmosphere without being too isolated, the Hotel Residence Select has the advantage of being close enough to the Old Town and the city centre to take a few minutes’ walk or a train to, yet without being so close that all the human traffic from these places disturbs you at the hotel.
positive:
Liberal room sizes at amazing value.
Each of the bedrooms is more generous than most hotels. They are well-equipped with an open plan kitchenette and desk and plenty of room in between this and the sleeping area, which is quite a luxury given the price and city location.
positive:
A good set-up for all types of visitors.
The hotel’s set-up allows for a flexible stay, with choices between the complimentary breakfast and self-catering, as well as the possibility of adding a cot or extra bed to a room. This makes it suitable for both business and leisure travellers in groups of varying numbers. It is also family-friendly as children under age twelve stay free of charge and cots/cribs can be provided with no extra charge as well.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Situation on street makes for some noise.
As Residence Select sits right on a fairly busy street there is plenty of activity due to there being a number of restaurants, hotels and a police station nearby. If you would rather not take chances on your sleep being disturbed, request a room on the higher floors or one not directly facing the front street.
negative:
Complaints of unstable Wi-Fi connection.
In some bedrooms especially, but all over the hotel generally, the internet connection can be quite slow to connect and to work. This is however, something that management continues to try and improve.
negative:
Some worn-out areas.
A few pieces of furniture and some fittings are fairly old at the hotel as well as many bedroom walls being quite thin and not keeping out all sound, however the hotel is kept clean and tidy despite needing some restoration in parts.
