Not easy to find
Many guests mentioned ongoing road works outside the Residence Inn by Marriott Charlotte University Research Park, which made it difficult for them to find the place. There is no sign indicating the hotel. The inconvenience of finding parking with construction work so close to the hotel was also an issue. The proximity to a main road and the fire department being across the road from the hotel was also an issue for guests.
negative:
No elevator
Hotel rooms are ranged over two floors and there is no elevator in the place. Guests were required to lug their luggage up a flight of stairs when they were assigned rooms at the higher levels.
negative:
Noise and other issues
Guests said that they could hear other guests overhead and
if there was any partying in the other suites, the noise carried. Guests also
mentioned the dumpsters being emptied in the middle of the night, which
disturbed their sleep. Guests also had issues with the blinds not covering
windows fully.
