Location, location, location..
Guests often choose the Residence Inn Vancouver Downtown as a pre-cruise stopover, as the Vancouver Cruise Port is just a few minutes away. However, many also enjoy being within walking distance of many city attractions, such as Granville Island and Robson Street. Tourists love that the trolley and hop-on/hop off bus also stop by near the hotel entrance. The 7-Eleven convenience store and 24-hour bakery on the doorstep are much appreciated as well.
positive:
Clean, modern rooms with a view
Guests generally describe the rooms as tastefully decorated, clean, and airy, with comfortable beds, good soundproofing, and modern, well-equipped kitchens. Many guests are impressed by the city views, which are particularly enjoyable from the private walk-out balconies.
positive:
Friendly, knowledgeable staff
The front desk staff receive rave reviews for their pleasant and professional customer service, with many guests appreciating their extensive knowledge of the area and noting that complimentary umbrellas are a hospitable touch given the wet Vancouver climate. Compliments also go to the chef: guests are generally pleased with the quality and variety on offer at the complimentary breakfast buffet.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Tight squeeze in the parking garage..
The hotel's indoor parking garage was built before the widespread popularity of SUVs, and so many guests find the spaces too narrow and close together for comfort.
negative:
Breakfast is for early birds..
Some guests find the breakfast area a bit too chaotic or crowded during "prime" times, and those who arrive in the last few minutes note that "closing time" is strictly observed.
negative:
Not "suite" enough for some..
Excepting a one-bedroom penthouse suite on the top floor, the Residence Inn Vancouver Downtown offers studio apartments only, which some guests find less spacious than the typical, or newer, Residence Inn suites.
