A warm welcome to Portland...
Though individual staff members are often recognised for being particularly friendly or accommodating, guests generally describe the entire team as hospitable and professional. The hearty buffet breakfast offers a good variety, and the weeknight social hours are also widely considered a plus.
positive:
Clean, spacious rooms...
The rooms are generally described as clean and comfortable, with plenty of space. Guests love the convenience of the full kitchens and the barbeque grills outside, and families particularly like the two-bedroom suites, some of which have a cozy fireplace. Four-legged guests are also right at home; there's a nice walking path along the river right outside the building. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and sport court are much appreciated, too.
positive:
Right off the highway...
Drivers find the location easily accessible from I5, and the commute to downtown Portland is straightforward, too. Travellers who want to avoid the hassle (and expense!) of parking there advise that the last station on the Yellow Line is about ten minutes away on foot, though the route is not particularly pretty, and the ride takes about 20-25 minutes.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Ready for a new look...
Guests note that the room decor is very dated, and some areas (including appliances, carpets, and furniture) are showing wear. Some (possibly all) are still equipped with tube televisions. A renovation is scheduled for late 2016.
negative:
A noisy night for some...
Light sleepers in rooms closest to the highway or overlooking the pool area on a hot summer night are sometimes disturbed by the noise. Humming appliances and air conditioning have kept some travellers up, too.
negative:
Unresolved issues...
Though the staff is widely described as pleasant, some guests have been disappointed to find them unable to effectively resolve issues with their rooms or reservations.
