Hotel Purgatory Resort (Rico, USA)

The resort property is relaxing and offers beautiful views of the San Juan Mountains. Along with the scenic hotel grounds, guests appreciated that everything was very well laid-out and easily accessible with many ski lifts available.

Reviewers who were at the resort to hit the slopes stated that the mountain has many excellent slopes and running hills, the runs are organized to keep people of different skill levels separated, and that there are areas suitable for both new and experienced skiers.

The resort employees received high marks from visitors who commented that the staff is helpful, efficient, organized, and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The event and activities staff were also highly praised, as was the professionalism of the ski instructors.

Owing to the fact that the condos are privately owned, the quality of the lodgings can vary. Many guests reported that their rooms were old and had not been updated since the ‘80’s, and that some of the suites are very basic.

Others added that the regular cleaning staff did not do a thorough job of tidying the rooms.

Visitors felt that the resort would greatly benefit from more dining options. People stated that they would have liked a wider variety of eateries to choose from after a day of activities, that the food that was available was mediocre, and that the meals were pricey.
