Staying at Portonovo Plaza means you are in the heart of downtown Puerto Vallarta, with all the attractions of the Romantic Zone within easy reach. Guests love being so close to the buzzing Malecon, the beach and the main shopping street. There are also many facilities and a supermarket nearby.

Guests feel they get a very good deal for what they pay for. You are not just paying for a great location, but an impeccably clean and modern hotel with good facilities such as a pool and gym.

It's not just the fact that the staff speak good English that gives guests such a good impression of them. It is more down to their friendly nature and way of making guests feel special and respected. They are also seen to be highly competent and knowledgeable of the local area.

Some find a nice hard bed to sleep on is absolute bliss. However, for certain guests it is just uncomfortable and ruins their stay. Some also feel that their comfort is impeded by the compact nature of their bedrooms as well as the frequent sightings of cockroaches. Whilst many guests admit this is to be expected in such tropical climes, it still doesn't make them feel well at ease!

The quality of the breakfasts is a divisive issue. Even the guests who find it to be delicious would still admit it is pretty basic. Some guests though think it needs to be improved and offer more choice.

Some guests come away complaining of smells coming from the drains. This is often identified as sulphur of even sewage. Whilst it appears only to be a problem in certain rooms, it could make you feel ill.
