Hotel Playpark Lodge (South Lake Tahoe, USA)

This hotel is definitely a no frills and simple kind of place, but it is well priced for what you do get, especially when compared with other accommodations of this calibre in the area.

The owner/manager at this motel is friendly and helpful. He is knowledgeable about the area and happy to offer suggestions for local restaurants, bars, shopping, entertainment venues and tourist attractions. He can also supply you with directions and is helpful when it comes to accommodating most of  your needs.

This property is located a bit off the beaten path which makes it a quiet place to stay. But you get the best of both worlds here because the property is close to the highway which makes the rest of South Lake Tahoe and most of the areas popular sights easy to access by car.

Sometimes the housekeeping staff at here is OK but more often than not,  it seems to miss the mark. Dirty bathrooms, floors and carpeting as well as dust in places long-neglected could detract from your stay.

The exterior of this motel has had few updates over the years and has a funky, well-worn appearance.

There’s no air conditioning in the guest rooms here which can make for an overly warm and uncomfortable stay when the weather is hot.
