Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient central location
While the hotel is not exactly in the very centre of tourist Rome, it is nonetheless conveniently midway between Termini Station and the Spanish Steps. Guests seemed to find this a great location for sightseeing, since it meant so much of Rome, from ancient to more modern periods, was well within walking distance.
positive:
Surprisingly large rooms
Guests had clearly been expecting rooms smaller than the one's they ended up with, mainly due to the hotel's central location. This in turn led many to conclude that they had received excellent value for money.
positive:
Exceptionally kind and helpful staff
While compliments for the staff are fairly common in hotel reviews, guests at the Picasso went even further than usual with their praise, saying that they gave them a very warm welcome and seemed to take a genuine interest in their well-being.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very basic breakfast
It was very hard to find a kind word written about the breakfast. Guests said it was incredibly basic, consisting of not much more than a few pastries and a cappuccino. Since it was not usually included in the rate they suggest taking your breakfast at one of the many great local cafes instead. On the plus side, the cappuccino was said to meet the high Italian standards.
negative:
Reception across the street
While not really a major issue for most, it was pointed out that the reception was not in the hotel itself, but across the street. This did cause some guests a very small amount of inconvenience now and then.
negative:
A bit noisy at night
Unfortunately the Picasso could not manage to somehow escape the noise that is a general feature of life in central Rome. They suggest that others bring along earplugs.
