If you are looking for a peaceful country retreat then you won’t be disappointed. The hotel is surrounded by 35 acres of private grounds complete with peacocks and rabbits creating a perfect countryside idyll. There are no noisy pubs or clubs in the vicinity which meant that guests were ensured a peaceful night’ sleep.

Guests who used the spa, including the pool, steam rooms and the Jacuzzi stated that they were satisfied with the overall cleanliness of the facilities and said that their experience was pleasant and relaxing. Many also complimented the specialist treatments on offer and said that they would wholeheartedly recommend them.

Those who dined at the hotel restaurant were very complimentary about the dishes on offer stating that their meals were tasteful and beautifully presented. The cooked breakfasts were also appreciated by many who described them as perfectly cooked and very filling. The buffet options were also extensive and tea and coffee supplies were regularly replenished.

The rooms have been described as rather dated with old fashioned furniture and worn carpets. Some guests were disappointed to find peeling wall papers and scruffy looking skirting boards whilst the bathrooms were also said to be basic with dated fixtures and fittings.

Guests complained about being able to hear occupants in the adjoining rooms as well as the plumbing which prevented many from getting a good night’s sleep. Noise from the corridors and squeaky floor boards were also described as being intrusive by those who stayed here.

Those who wanted to watch a bit of TV in their rooms were disappointed to find that the sets were quite dated and that they were only able to watch the 6 terrestrial channels.
