Great Setting for History Buffs.
Lincoln itself is a medieval town and Pemberton House is itself a historical building, built in the fourteen hundreds. It is right in the heart of the medieval city situated in the middle of the castle and cathedral. The narrow medieval streets are charming and quaint and offer accommodation that allows visitors to step back in time.
positive:
Beautiful Historic Interior.
The rooms are clean and comfortable with internal historic features, such as low door frames, internal roof beams and wooden window shutters. Some rooms feature four poster beds. Staying here is a more memorable experience than in a more modern, characterless hotel.
positive:
Perfect for Groups.
Due to the shared bathroom and sounds travelling, this accommodation would particularly suit group bookings of families or friends, who then have the entire guest house to enjoy together.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Historic Building Means no Soundproofing.
The age of this building means it is listed. Due to this, the walls are somewhat thin and noise from the exterior and from the other rooms can be heard. Due to this, light sleepers may find a restful night’s sleep is difficult to achieve here.
negative:
Shared Bathroom.
All self-catering guests have to share the single bathroom. It is located past the area with cooking facilities, which must be walked through in order to access the toilet. It’s location and the lack of a private WC and bathroom may not suit everyone.
negative:
Pay for Parking.
Parking is available at Pemberton House’s sister hotel The Bail House Hotel, however, this doesn’t come as part of the rental rate and must be paid for at an extra daily rate.
