Positive Reviews
positive:
Poolside relaxation.
For most guests, the pool area at Oudaya is a great place to relax after a busy day's sightseeing; with plenty of sun loungers dotted around and a bar. It is a particularly busy spot during the hotter months when the cool temperature of the water is especially welcome.
positive:
Out of the major tourist area.
While you can feasibly walk to Jemaa El Fna within 40-minutes, most opt to catch a taxi or local bus. There are shops, a cafe and shopping centre nearby, but many like that the hotel is slightly away from the main tourist areas.
positive:
Excellent facilities.
Oudaya is popular for its unique architecture, Moroccan-style furniture and decor- with stunning, patterned (albeit dated) wallpaper. The hotel boasts a gift shop, hammam and sauna and also has a games room for guests to use.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Temperamental Wi-Fi.
The Wi-Fi at the hotel can be temperamental at times and many guests have found it next to unusable in rooms. Service is, apparently, best in the lobby for those who need access.
negative:
Odd food and drinks rules.
The hotel has a strict rule against food and drink being brought in from outside the hotel. Many guests object to this odd procedure; especially since it also includes bottled water. The selection of food offered in the hotel is also fairly limited and, while some have managed to bring bits in, others have had items confiscated.
negative:
Staff attitude.
Guests suggest that staff attitude could be improved upon. While bar staff are friendly, guest experiences of the team on reception vary wildly. Some find them helpful, while others have been left feeling ignored and unwelcome.
