positive:
Modern hi-tech accommodation.
The Old Loans Inn recently underwent a whopping £ 1.8 million refurbishment and now boasts a myriad of state-of-the-art appointments. Large flat screen TV’s complete with media centres at multiple locations throughout each guest room, allow guests to connect their mobile devices, even in the bathroom.
positive:
Enjoy historic surroundings.
The Inn exists within an original 18th century coach inn and while the owners have poured a huge amount of money into modern renovations and updates, they have very wisely kept much of the original inn intact. Guests can enjoy the original stonework, large wood beams and original fireplaces.
positive:
Beautiful location for exploring.
The hotel is set in the heart of the stunning Ayrshire countryside and is the ideal base from which to explore interesting and historic villages in the area. From the inn one can easily access Troon and Ayr and enjoy a round of golf on one of the many courses scattered throughout the area. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is also within easy reach.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Complicated Wi-Fi issues.
The hotel provides free Wi-Fi connectivity in guest rooms and public spaces, as well as a multitude of connectivity points for a variety of devices. The only issue is that the Wi-Fi connectivity is intermittent and unreliable and has the added complication of separate networks, all requiring separate passwords and log in details.
negative:
Poor air-conditioning quality.
A number of negative experiences regarding the quality (or lack thereof) of the air-conditioning in many of the rooms is a common complaint. Air-conditioning either does not work or is inefficient at producing the desired air quality.
negative:
Some noise issues.
An issue that is often exacerbated by the problem with poor air-conditioning performance has to do with road noise, a problem that is more noticeable when windows are left open to cool the room.
